Peepal Foundation began as the brain-child of a few altruistically inclined professionals from different walks of life. We resolved to move our compassion for the underprivileged, from the domain of consciousness, to the terrain of reality.. And make it perform for the needy. Deliver for the downtrodden.

The beginnings in 2001 were modest, but soon we grew in both scope and outreach and are proud to be where we are at the end of a decade. We began with the establishment of a balwadi, a daycare centre for children of construction workers and laborers at Hadapsar. We slowly expanded our outreach to several groups.

Beginning 2007, our designated year for Child Development and seeing the consequent need for sustained intervention; we have decided to concentrate our outreach towards education of underprivileged children.

Our first Development Centre met with success in its goals and we aim to widen its scope and take in many more schools under our umbrella that could benefit by such a project.
