Suyeb Ansari
Suyeb’s father is an auto-rickshaw driver and the sole bread winner in the family of five.
They live in a slum tenement at Dhanori. Although himself illiterate, he was determined that his
kids should get the best education. Suyeb was a student of the Samata school when we began
our first development centre in Nagpur chawl. Being naturally bright and eager, he was one of the
regulars at the DC. From class 7 to class 10, he diligently attended our DC and showed a lot of
promise. His eagerness to learn and constantly improve were the key to his excellent academic
result. Suyeb’s positive attitude has gotten him far, He’s now pursuing diploma in computer
engineering and speaks and writes in English with a surprising confidence.

Faiji Ansari
Faiji is Suyeb’s older brother, and possesses a maturity that far belies his age. Now 15, Faiji has been a student at our DC since 8th Std. An unfortunate illness prevented him from appearing for his final exams due to which he had to lose an academic year. But his spirit and enthusiasm remains unshaken. Like Suyeb, he too pursues a diploma in computer engineering and dreams of obtaining a degree after that. We helped him improve his spoken English skills, and he is now reasonably fluent in writing and speaking English. This holds him in good stead in his continuing education. He maintains that Peepal Foundation has helped him find himself, honed his skills, encouraged his dreams and supported his desires.

Ajinkya Jadhav
Ajinkya (15 yrs) is an exceptionally bright boy and came to our attention during our survey of needy students in the Yerawada area. His father, a lawyer passed away in 2002, leaving behind his hapless mother and Ajinkya to the mercy of relatives. Since then, Ajinkya’s mother has been working as a domestic servant to make ends meet. It’s this fiercely independent spirit of his mother’s that comes naturally to Ajinkya too. His extreme intelligence and natural disposition to learning prompted us to sponsor this deserving boy and he proved our faith was not misplaced when he secured 93% in his 10th Std at Don Bosco School. Peepal Foundation has supported and sponsored Ajinkya for 6 years and will continue to support him for his higher education as well. For we believe that such a bright light should not be diminished due to extraneous factors like poverty and misfortune. May his tribe increase! We are proud of you, Ajinkya!

Shilpa Pujari
Shilpa’s father works in a shop and they live in the tenements at Tingre nagar. Shilpa (14 yrs) was an average student, just managing to scrape through in school. She joined our DC when she was in the 6th std. 3 years with our DC trainers have brought about a tremendous change in her. Academically, her marks have improved dramatically in all subjects to about 90%. But more importantly, Shilpa has acquired a new-found grace, confidence and poise. She speaks without fear, her presentation skills have markedly improved and she is enthusiastic about participation in all the DC activities. She is also very supportive and helpful towards her classmates. We are indeed heartened to see our work bear such fruit! Way to go, Shilpa!

Sheetal Gaikwad
Sheetal’s father is a security guard and a habitual drunkard. But this has not marred Sheetal’s (14 yrs) spirit. She joined our DC in the 6th std and is now upto 8th Std, She loves coming to the DC because she gets to learn so many new things. She pursues drawing with a passion and there has been a marked improvement in her overall personality too.
